Standards for the Week:

Standard 1:  The learner demonstrates competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities.

Monday:
  • Review for unit test- Heart Rate Information
    • Target Heart Rate
    • Maximum heart rate
    • Resting heart rate
    • Heart rate reserve
    • Recovery heart rate
    • Overload, Progression, and Specificity 
  • Review Performance on Friday: Interpretive Dance Using a Prop
    • Must follow rubric
      • Dance must be 121-136 bpm
      • Dance must allow students to reach their target heart rate
      • Must use a prop
      • Must dance for a cause Ex: Freedom of Speech
      • Synchronization
      • Duration - 6 minutes 
      • Music- Fast tempo, appropriate lyrics
      • Energy
      • Presentation
      • Participation/Teamwork/Leadership

Tuesday:

  • Group work: Interpretive Dance Routine

Thursday:

Friday:
  • Short Group Rehearsal
  • Review group performance rubric
  • Performance Assessment - 2 performances
