9/2-9/5: Teamwork and Leadership: Strolling

Standards covered this week:

Standard 5: Exhibits responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity settings.
Standard 6: Values physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/or social interaction.

Monday:

  • Introduce performance standards 5 & 6
  • Introduce Group Project: Sorority strolling routine.
  • Review Teamwork Group Project Rubric: Creativity, Duration, Formations, Synchronization, and Participation.
    • Duration: 2 minute stroll in and 2 minute stroll out
  • Strolling, Teamwork, Leadership, and Formations notes
  • Warm-up: Cardiovascular Endurance Routine
  • Group Project Practice
  • Closing/Cool-down: Static stretching/Teamwork and Leadership Review

Tuesday:
  • Review Daily Assessments
    • Participation
    • Dress-out
    • Teamwork and Leadership Assessments 
  • Warm-up: Circuit Training & Cardiovascular Endurance Activity
  • Group Exercises: Core Workout
  • Group Project Practice
  • Closing/Cool-down: Review Daily Assessments/Static Stretching
Wednesday:
  • Warm-up: Timed Jogging/Dynamic Stretching
  • Group Exercises: Lower Body Workout
  • Group Project Practice: Teacher Assessment: 45 second Assessment: Groups must have at least 45 seconds of their routine done.
  • Closing/Cool-down: Static Stretching/Ticket out the door (teamwork and leadership survey)
Thursday:
  • Warm-up: Timed Jogging/Stroll warm-up routine
  • Group Exercises: Upper Body Workout
  • Group Project Practice
  • Closing/Cool-down: Static Stretching
Friday:
  • Warm-up: Circuit Training/Introduce F.I.T.T. Principle: Frequency, Intensity, Type, and Time.
  • Group Exercises: F.I.T.T. Principle workout routine
  • Group Project Practice: 1 minute assessment: Groups must have at least 1 and 30 seconds complete.
  • Closing/Cool-down: Group assessment review/Static Stretching
