Standards:
Standard 1. Demonstrates competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities.
Ex: The student will learn how to perform dance moves inspired by different cultural backgrounds.

Standard 2. Demonstrates understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities.
Ex: The learner will modify the concepts of overload, progression, and specificity during aerobic exercise.
Ex: The learner will apply the FITT Principle (frequency, intensity, and time) during aerobic exercise.
Ex: The learner will learn movements needed to create a Zumba routine.

Standard 3. Participates regularly in physical activity.
Ex: The learner will participate during class.
Ex: The leaner will dress-out and participate

Standard 4. Achieves and maintains a health-enhancing level of physical fitness.
Ex: The learner will set Fitnessgram goals.

Standard 6. Values physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and /or social interaction
Ex: The learner will show teamwork and leadership during group activities.

·        Monday:
-        The 3 training principles
-        Students will learn how to apply the FITT Principle (frequency, intensity, and time) during aerobic exercise
-        Students will learn how to design a dance and aerobic routine using the correct mechanics
-        Students will learn how to warm-up  and cool-down correctly
·        Tuesday
-        The principle of Overload
-        Students will learn how to  set realistic fitness goals
-        Students will learn how to apply the FITT Principle (frequency, intensity, and time) during aerobic exercise
-        Students will continue to learn how to design a dance and aerobic routine using the correct mechanics. Students create a dance routine inspired by Zumba.
-        Students will learn how to warm-up and cool-down correctly

·        Wednesday:
-        The principle of Specificity
-        Students will learn how to modify the concepts of overload, progression, and specificity during aerobic exercise
-        Students will learn how to apply the FITT Principle (frequency, intensity, and time) during aerobic exercise
-        Students will continue to learn how to design a dance and aerobic routine using the correct mechanics
-        Teamwork and leadership
-        Respect of the diversity, strengths, and weakness of other learners
-        Building positive relationships with other students
-        Students will warm-up and cool-down correctly
·        Thursday
-        The principle of Progression
-        Students will learn how to read and interpret Healthy Fitness Zone Scores for appropriate age and gender
-        Students will learn how to modify the concept of progression during their mile run
-        Students will set realistic goals for the Mile Run Fitnessgram test
-        Students will learn to cool-down and warm-up properly before and after the mile run
·        Friday
-        The FITT approach and how it relates to the principle of overload and progression
-        Students will learn how to read and interpret Healthy Fitness Zone Scores for appropriate age and gender for the Pacer Fitnessgram test
-        Students will learn how to modify the concept of progression during their Pacer test
-        Students will learn how to set realistic goals for the next Pacer test
-        Students will learn to cool-down and warm-up properly before and after the Pacer test
